Unconditional Love

Valentine's Day is nearing, and with all the splashes of pink and red color in every direction we look, we are reminded of love.
Love isn't defined by a day in the second month of the year...but by the way you cherish those close to your heart each and every day.
As a reminder to love oneself and others unconditionally, I have created this pendant..."Unconditional Love".
Sterling silver wire hugs this rhodonite teardrop pendant ever so tightly.
Rhodonite is a gorgeous pink stone with unique black inclusions, who's name is derived from the Greek word "Rhodon", which means "rose".
In addition to bringing delight to the eye, Rhodonite promotes confidence and self-worth, and activates unconditional love.

Meeting New People

It's always such a joy to meet someone new and instantly "click". I believe the feeling of immediate "comfort" is experienced when meeting someone new, happens when you've known that person in a previous lifetime.

A friend of mine "Terri" posted the story of how we met on her blog a couple of weeks ago.

In the spirit of sharing such stories that celebrate the beginning of friendship, I'd like to write a bit about Silvia. Silvia and I met at a metaphysical event, I was selling my jewelry. From the moment I saw her and her family, I knew there was something special about her. I turned to the vendor next to me, an interesting older man named "Ethan". Talk about meeting phenomenal people...I'll have to write about him someday. Anyhoo...I turned to Ethan and pointed Silvia out to him. I said, "look at that woman, isn't she beautiful!". He nodded and went on ranting about how his silks weren't selling..lol. Silvia and her adorable family approached my table. When they did, I observed Silvia as she was strongly attracted to a necklace that I had made with an Egyptian Eye of Horus pendant.

She gave her husband a "buy my that" look, made an indecisive smirk, browsed a few other items and was on her way to the next vendor. Something powerful told me, that necklace belonged to her...she needed to have it, and I wanted her to have it. As she strolled by about a half hour later, I called her over and told her that I wasn't sure why, but she was meant to have the necklace and I wanted to gift it to her. She was modestly resistant at first, "Oh, I can't", "let me pay for it". I insisted that it was a gift for her and after a few minutes of modesty, she graciously accepted.

Silvia and I have been friends since that day. Turns out, that not only is Silvia a beautiful person, she's gifted and blessed with metaphysical and spiritual talents.

You can read more about Silvia http://www.angelwork.synthasite.com/

Not only is Silvia a Medium Clairvoyant, she is a certified Aromatherapist.

I highly recommend Heavenly Scent.

The Music of Aum

I discovered Aum ॐ while in India in 2004 and it has been a significant part of my life since. It is often used in Yoga and meditation.

While there are 100s of meanings to the word and such symbolism that it is nearly impossible to capture the true essence of what Aum is with words, here is the beginning of some insight to Aum.

I have gathered this information via various resources (books, www, etc.) to provide a basic understanding.
The origin of Aum (also Om or, more rarely, Ohm) ॐ is Sanskrit and is a mystical or sacred syllable in the Hindu, Jain and Buddhist religions.

Aum is said to be the essence of all mantras, the highest of all mantras or divine word , ultimate reality itself. By sound and form, AUM symbolizes the infinite ultimate reality and the entire universe.

A stands for Creation
U stands for Preservation
M stands for Destruction or dissolution

The three portions of AUM relate to the states of waking, dream and deep sleep. The three letters also indicates three planes of existence, heaven , earth and netherworld.
The Music of Om is not a word but rather an intonation, which, like music, transcends the barriers of age, race, culture and even species. It is made up of three Sanskrit letters, aa, au and ma which, when combined together, make the sound Aum or Om. It is believed to be the basic sound of the world and to contain all other sounds. It is a mantra or prayer in itself. If repeated with the correct intonation, it can resonate throughout the body so that the sound penetrates to the centre of one's being, or soul.

Live in the moment this New Year!

Time is precious, waste it wisely and live in the moment!

The exciting opportunistic time of the New Year has inspired these Fancy Jasper earrings.

Fancy Jasper gives a sense of well-being and bringer of mental energy. In fact, it's referred to as "the party stone", believed to encourage living for the moment. It helps people lighten up and enjoy themselves, but a subtler, quieter kind of partying.

Inspiration

Many of the things that inspire me in life, also inspire my jewelry art. One of my inspirations is nature...who isn't inspired by the beauty and amazement of nature?

This pendant was inspired by the dancing snow flurries, twirling effortlessly outside my window. Sterling silver delicately intertwining iridescent moonstone, translucent moonstone and gleaming freshwater pearls.

I call it...Everlasting

Genuine Generosity...

And this is why I am so blessed...

As my 9 year old son, Christopher and I are going through the abundant fortune of gift cards and checks that he received for Christmas, I'm bracing him for the distribution of these funds (lol).

I begin to tell him "you can spend your gift cards as you please, and the checks we'll...". I'm about to say, "bring to the bank to put in your savings" (obviously preparing myself for resistance to the idea), when he interupts me mid-sentence and says, "give to the Children's Hospital".

Yes, I did say 9 years old.

When I asked him where he had learned about the Children's Hospital, he said, "I saw it on TV and it made me sad, I want to help them get better".

There are no words...

Namaste

Welcome to my blog...

I hope that all have been blessed with a delightful Holiday Season. May the New Year bring joy, peace, hope and happiness to all.

I begin my blog with one of the many things that bring me inspiration in life, and in jewelry making...nature.

Enjoy!
